Global Security the Topic for NATO Academic Conference at ODU
Experts and leaders from across the United States and from as far away as the United Kingdom and Poland will gather at Old Dominion University March 11-13, 2024, for the NATO Academic Conference.
The theme for the conference is "Alliances and Partnerships in a Complex and Challenging Security Environment," and it will bring together academics, key civilian and military leaders from NATO, Allied and some partner nations to discuss geopolitical security issues.
It will be one of the milestone events on the "Road to the Washington Summit" marking NATO's 75th anniversary.
The event is co-organized by Allied Command Transformation — NATO's Strategic Warfare Development Command — and ODU. Regina Karp, who directs Old Dominion's Graduate Program in International Studies, has been instrumental in organizing the gathering.
"The conference will aim to generate new ideas on how to enhance NATO's, Allies, and Partners' ability to anticipate threats and respond to crises with greater speed, coherence, effectiveness and precision," an announcement on the NATO Allied Command Transformation website said.
